The primary objective of this study was to design the grabbing technique used to determine the vacuum suction gripper and its design parameters for the pocket welting operation in apparel manufacturing. It presents the application of vacuum suction in grabbing technology, a technique that has revolutionized the handling and manipulation to grasp the various fabric materials in a range of garment industries. Vacuum suction, being non-intrusive and non-invasive, offers several advantages compared ...

Metallic materials are used in many applications due to their mechanical and physical properties. Under an aggressive environment, i.e. high temperature and/or corrosive environment these materials can be degraded at a fast rate. One way to protect the metal surface against corrosion is to apply the organic inhibitor material. The inhibitor will normally be chemically adsorbed by the surface of the metal; this will form a protective thin film. The current work is to investigate the influences of...

Numerical simulations of the impact behavior of a single layer of 2D woven fabrics at low-velocity are presented. The configurations considered for the studies are three different architectures of 2D woven fabrics (plain weave, twill weave and satin weave) made of Kevlar and UHMWPE fibers. The numerical models are formulated and used to investigate the ballistic impact behavior of 2D woven fabrics when the fabrics are clamped along all four edges (4BC) or two edges (2BC). In this paper, the ball...

Diclofenac (DCF) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain in joint-related diseases. It is not completely metabolized after consumption and cannot be easily removed using conventional wastewater treatment. DCF has been detected in water bodies and may pose chronic effects on the endocrines of living organisms even at low-level exposure. Heterogeneous photocatalysis provides an alternative and efficient method of degrading DCF. In this study, the photocatalytic remov...

In this paper, HSC software was used to perform a thermodynamic analysis of A5083/ZrO 2 metal matrix composite to predict the phases which formed during the manufacturing processes (vortex method). The base matrix was purchased commercially and the zirconia particles were extracted from Egyptian zircon as a reinforcing material by alkaline fusion technique. The base material was melted in an electric furnace at 750°C, and the extracted zirconia particles were added while stirring. ...

This paper focuses on the difference between the effect of heating and reheating on sunflower oil properties by using carbon dioxide laser and electrical heater. Two samples of sunflower oil were heated and reheated with carbon dioxide laser beaming up to 50°C, which takes 30 minutes; another two samples were heated and reheated up to 250°C using electrical heater in two minutes, along with an unheated control sample at ambient conditions. Chemical properties like acid value, free fatty ...

The consciousness of environmental & ecological impact has attained great attention for the preparation of new material & various end-used applications. Macromolecules synthesized from natural resources have increased compared to synthetic resources in recent years. The fabrication of composite materials has another concept for increasing the durable properties of composite materials. This review paper focused on the fabrication of composite materials based on some natural sources macromolecules...

In this paper we used BSA Langmuir monolayer as templates to study the effect of solute concentration on regulated biomineralization of calcium carbonate. During the crystallization process, it is found that the morphology of the calcium carbonate can be strongly affected by the solute concentration in presence of BSA Langmuir monolayer. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) results show that the crystal of calcium carbonate formed is all the calcite phase with a higher orientation. SEM images show that the m...

Oriented calcium carbonate crystals have been grown beneath bovine serum albumin (BSA) Langmuir monolayers at the air-solution interface from supersaturated calcium bicarbonate solutions. The calcium carbonate prepared was characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM and SAED. It was found the crystal morphologies changed from amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) to regular hemispherical calcite crystals with the prolonging of the time. These observations suggest that the process is step by step, during which th...

This paper deals with the utilisation of glass coming from municipal waste mainly for the production of inorganic polymeric materials, with advanced mechanical properties, intended for the construction industry. The development of glass-based geopolymers, achieving high compressive strength and low water absorption, is described, and the produced materials are compared with some common construction and building materials.
