Validation of Analytical Method for Chromatographic Determination of Chlorimuron Ethyl Herbicide in Sediments

Ramom Rachide Nunes, Bruno Henrique Froes Santos, Maria Olímpia Oliveira Rezende
The present work describes the validation of an analytical method for chromatographic determination of chlorimuron ethyl herbicide (compound of sulphonylurea group) in sediments, in according with Brazilian legislation, following the guidance and normative documents of INMETRO (DOQ-CGCRE-008) and ANVISA (Resolution RE no 899 - 2003). The results show that the chromatographic method demonstrated to be selective, accurate, precision and linear over the concentration range of 5.0-1000.0 ug L-1...

Biosynthesis of Copper Nanoparticles and Their Antimicrobial Activity

Parth Parikh, Dipali Zala, Bharat A. Makwana

Development of green nanotechnology is generating interest of researchers toward ecofriendly biosynthesis of nanoparticles. Biomolecules present in plant extracts can be used to reduce metal ions to nanoparticles in a single-step green synthesis process. This biogenic reduction of metal ion to base metal is quite rapid, readily conducted at room temperature and pressure, and easily scaled up. In this study, biosynthesis of stable copper nanoparticles were done using datura

Estimation of trace elements in fly ash released from coal combustion

Ali Eltayeib
Abstract: The formation of ash and the transformation of minerals matter during coal combustion have been topics of intensive study by numerous research groups. The fact that toxic and heavy metal constituents are associated with pulverized coal ash has been known for many years. Coal combustion not only generates gaseous pollutants like SO2 and NOx but also toxic and heavy metals to the atmosphere. From the environmental point of view, the determination and speciation of trace toxic and heavy m...
