Homoclinic Points and Homoclinic Orbits for the Quadratic Family of Real Functions with Two Parameters

Karam N. Abdul-Kareem, Salma M. Farris
In this work, we study the homoclinic points and homoclinic orbits of the family of real functions with two parameters. We show that the function has no homoclinic points for , but has a homoclinic point for . Also, we prove that has homoclinic orbits for .

Unsupervised Feature Selection Based on Low-Rank Regularized Self-Representation

Wenyuan Li, Lai Wei
Feature selection aims to find a set of features that are concise and have good generalization capabilities by removing redundant, uncorrelated, and noisy features. Recently, the regularized self-representation (RSR) method was proposed for unsupervised feature selection by minimizing the L2,1 norm of residual matrix and self-representation coefficient matrix. In this paper, we find that minimizing the L2,1 norm of the self-representation coefficient matrix cannot effectively extract the feature...

Bidirectional Transfer in Korea-Chinese Children’s Language Acquisition

Zhenyi Shao
With the development of economy, international trade and commerce frequently boomed, multicultural families are gradually increasing, so developing children’s bilingual competence has become a focused issue. This thesis collects 38 Korean-Chinese children’s bilingual proficiency test paper to research language bidirectional transfer in the process of K-C children bilingual acquisition. There are two types of children involved, that one is bilingual children who born in china, with a Korean paren...

New Parameter of CG-Method with Exact Line Search for Unconstraint Optimization

Mohammed M. Abdel Hady, Maha S. Younis
In this paper, a new CG method has been introduced to solve nonlinear equations systems. This method achieved the conditions of descent and global convergence, using the exact line search. The numerical results were good compared to other methods in terms of the number of iterations and the number of functions evaluation.

An Expert System for Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental Ailment

Stanley Ikechukwu Oguoma, Kizito Kanayo Uka, Chekwube Alphonsus Chukwu, Emeka Christian Nwaoha
The stigmatization and the accompanying problems with mentally challenged persons in the third world countries like Nigeria in getting good medication are better imagined than experienced. This paper presents the design, implementation of expert system for the diagnosis and treatment of mental ailment on interactive platform for remote consultation and monitoring of mental health patients within and outside the hospital. The study of the existing system was carried out using Structural System An...

The Significance of an Unnoticed Theoretical Element

Eliahu Comay
Relativistic properties of a Lagrangian density are compared with those of a Hamiltonian density. It is proved that a Lagrangian density and a Hamiltonian density undergo different Lorentz transformations. This outcome is a theoretical element that has been unnoticed for a very long time. It is also proved that this theoretical element plays a crucial role in the structure of weak interactions theory. In particular, it is shown that the theory that uses this element is overwhelmingly superior ov...

Eliminating Cyanobacteria and Controlling Algal Organic Matter—Short Notes

Djamel Ghernaout, Noureddine Elboughdiri
Coagulation and flocculation processes could reduce particulate algal cells efficiently, but they are not so performant in dealing with solubilized algal organic matter in potable water factories. This work reviews the main findings found in recent publications. Many techniques used in the water treatment industry encounter the problem of microalgae lysis, toxin release, and degradation. Indeed, chemical coagulants such as alum and pre-oxidation injecting chlorine can trigger demolition to algal...

Perceive of Nursing Students about Licentiate Disciplines

Ana Carolina Silva Goncalves, Ana Laura Linhares de Oliveira, Isabella Cabral dos Santos, Kamila Silva de Miranda, Liessa Aparecida Vaz, Thayna Martins Goncalves, Omar Pereira de Almeida Neto
Introduction: Undergraduate Nursing Courses have trying to prepare nurses to act as teachers in various teaching scenarios, despite still gaps in the student’s understanding. Objectives: To report the experience and evaluate the perceptions of undergraduate nursing students in relation to the disciplines of integrated project of educational practices I (PIPE I) and Interdisciplinary Project I (PROINTER I). Methods: Descriptive and quantitative study. Nursing students were recruited to answer a q...

Using Cellular Agents (CA) to Prove Kurzweil’s Law of Accelerating Returns (LOAR) Wrong When Using a Series of Paradigm Shifts Trying to Maintain Exponential Growth

Luis F. Copertari
Objective: To prove LOAR wrong with a mathematical and algorithmically designed experiment. Methodology: Using changes from one to two to three to four to five and to six dimensions as paradigm shifts when CA growth occurs. Results: A series of S-curves are obtained and the actual growth of CA is shown. Limitation: The results could not be continued due to the experimental design used. Conclusion: There is evidence against a continued exponential growth even with paradigm shifts being considered...

Replace the Content in e-Abacus Diagram

Ammar Seddiq Mahmood
This research is based on the idea of replacing what the sites contain in the e-abacus diagram with each other and then representing the new diagram (derived from the original diagram) and knowing the value of its partition (as a type of hidden coding of the origin of the diagram or in the sense of the opposite diagram).
