Parallel Self-Timed Adder with Lookahead-Carry Generator

Mohammad Ashfak Habib
Parallel self-timed adder (PASTA) is a newly introduced asynchronous adder. It shows appreciable average-case performance without any special speedup circuitry or look-ahead schema, but its worst-case performance is almost similar to that of ripple carry adder. It is therefore an important research issue to find a technique to improve its worst-case performance without any significant compromise in its other performances. This paper investigates the possibility of such performance improvement of...

Science and Technology News English-Chinese Translation from the Perspective of Skopos Theory—A Case Study of China Daily Bilingual Website

Sen Yuan, Xiaoyu Ma
With the rapid development of science and technology in China, there are more and more science and technology news, and the translation of the news becomes more and more important. Under the guidance of the basic theory of Skopos theory and combined with the empirical analysis of science and technology news translation, this paper demonstrates the three principles which are the core of Skopos theory. They play an important role in guiding the translation of science and technology news.

Series of Low-Grade B-Cell Lymphoma: Follicular Lymphoma, Marginal Zone Lymphoma, Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia and Mantle Cell Lymphoma

Ganesh Kasinathan
Low grade B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (LBNHL) is usually slow growing and most often incurable. Case 1: A 47-year-old Malay gentleman was diagnosed with relapsed Stage IV Grade 2 Follicular Lymphoma (Follicular lymphoma international prognostic index, FLIPI 2: intermediate risk). He was initially treated with 6 cycles of standard rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisolone (R-CHOP) polychemotherapy at first presentation and was in remission for 8 years until he relapse...

Research on Checked Tone in Lingchuan Dialect

Zhipeng Wang
This paper selects normal checked characters and makes a comprehensive analysis of checked tone merging in Lingchuan dialect from rhyme, initial consonants and tone. In terms of rhyme, geng rhyme’s merging speed is fastest and shen rhyme is slowest. As for ancient consonants, nasal has the fastest speed, and voiced initial has the slowest speed. Judging from the attribution of the tones, the voiced and nasal initial checked characters are majorly classified into the departing tone, while the voi...

The Fundamentals to Minimize the Culture Failure in Hematological Malignancies

Sumithra Martinovic, Bhanu Prakash Lalkota, Mithua Ghosh, Belagutty Jayappa Srinivasa, Prasanna Kumari
Cytogenetics plays a major role in Cancer studies, as some abnormalities aid in the correct categorizing of leukemia and lymphomas, and additionally provides important prognostic information. Though every laboratory follows SOP’s, there is always a chance of culture failure. We processed and analyzed 36 BMA (Bone marrow aspirate) and 31 PB samples (Peripheral blood) with referral reasons: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) n = 37, Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) n = 7, Acute myeloid leukemia ...

Mind-Brain-Body System’s Dynamics

Claudio Messori
All the current computational mind-brain models are based on the mechanistic (mechanical philosophy) and deterministic vision of the world, conceived in the sign of Cartesian dualism and Newtonian physics, which operate in every sector of knowledge and know-how by reason of a universal mechanistic order. At present the Western theories about the position of human mind in Nature can be reduced to five: Materialism, Metaphysical idealism, Dualism, Holism, Quantum. Based on the identification of tw...

How to Detect Quantum (de Broglie) Waves

Carlos López
A very simple (therefore strong) argument, grounded in the action reaction principle, predicts the existence of isolated quantum, de Broglie waves. In this article I propose an experimental set up able to detect these quantum waves. As far as quantum waves are associated to any kind of elementary particles, massive or massless, charged or neutral, etc., its character is probably gravitational, i.e., they are micro-gravitational waves. The quantum wave is isolated when a particle can follow two (...

Prediction of Wheat Rust Diseases Using Data Mining Application

Wesenu Bekele Mulatu, Mebratu Fana Bedasa, Gemechu Kena Terefa
Stem rust caused by Puccinia graminis f.sp. tritici and stripe rust caused by Puccinia striiformis are the most destructive wheat rust diseases when environment conditions are favorable in regions where wheat crops are grown. An early prediction mechanism can play a great role in forecasting the occurrence of the rust disease. It assists proactive control and early decision making. However, in the absence of prediction mechanism of wheat rust disease hurried wheat production yield loss more. Hen...

Productivity and Participatory Evaluation of Forage Legumes and Grasses in Pour Soils of Ngweshe Kingdom, DRC

M. M. D. Katunga, P. B. Mushagalusa, B. Kambale
Livestock production decreases in DRC during the three last decades. Malnutrition becomes a big challenge especially in animal proteins supply. To improve animal production by the best feeding in rural environment of Sud-Kivu, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) selected four legume forages: Desmodium uncinatum, Canavalia brasiliensis CIAT 17009, Lablab purpureus 21603 and Lablab purpureus 22759 and grasses Tripsacum andersonii, Pennisetum purpureum CV French Cameroon and loca...
