Dynamic Monitoring of Jiuzhaigou Earthquake Damaged Landscape Restoration Based on SBAS-InSAR

Maoying Ran, Weihong Wang, Hong Zhu, Shihua Geng, Weiqiang Wu
On August 8, 2017, Jiuzhaigou earthquake caused a large number of geological disasters in Jiuzhaigou scenic area, and many landscapes were seriously damaged. Sentinel-1A data from July 30, 2017 to January 28, 2020 are selected as the data source. SBAS-InSAR technology is used to obtain the settlement rate changes of Jiuzhaigou earthquake damaged core landscape Panda sea, Spark sea and Nuorilang waterfall, and dynamically monitor the restoration and conservation results of Jiuzhaigou. The results...

Sea Level Variations at Different Coastal Areas of Zhejiang Province, China

Binbin Yan, Wangyuan Zhu, Liuzhu Wang, M. V. Subrahmanyam
In this paper we consider the different locations of Zhejiang (ZJ) provincial area including Hangzhou Bay (HZB), Ningbo (NB), Zhoushan (ZS), Taizhou (TZ) and Wenzhou (WZ) subareas to find out the sea level (SL) variations. Sea Surface Height Relative to Geoid over these areas has been obtained from the satellite altimetry data produced routinely by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) and Archiving, Validation and Interpretation of Satellite Oceanographic (AVISO) data...

Time Variations Analysis of the Geomagnetic Field in the Municipality of Macaé, Brazil

Laisa Prata Moreira Fernandes, Joao Victor Jobim de Souza e Silva, Iago Reis Homsi, Paula de Carvalho Garcia, Gabriel Teixeira de Oliveira Barroso, Tainá Rebelo e Ribeiro, Gabriel Gomes Dias de Oliveira, Vania Regina de Oliveira Branco, Hans Schmidt Santos
This paper presents the analysis of temporal variations of the geomagnetic field in the municipality of Macaé, Brazil. Current and historical magnetic field from the IGRF (International Geomagnetic Reference Field) and Gufm1 models were used to construct two-dimensional maps from 1590 to 2019. Analysis of the maps revealed that there was a large decrease in total magnetic field magnitude from around 48,000 nT in 1590 to 23,000 nT in 2019, i.e., a decrease of more than 50%. This decrease was inte...

Sea Level Variations of Zhejiang Province, China

Pingbo Wang, Liuzhu Wang, Mantravadi Venkata Subrahmanyam
In this paper we consider the Zhejiang (ZJ) provincial coastal area to find the sea level (SL) variations. Sea Surface Height Relative to Geoid over these areas has been obtained from the satellite altimetry data produced routinely by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) and Archiving, Validation and Interpretation of Satellite Oceanographic (AVISO) data. Monthly, seasonal and interannual variations of SL over ZJ have been presented

Magnetic Characterization of the Carajás Mineral Province, Brazil

Yasmim Monteiro Cordeiro, Gleyton Pinto Lisboa, Vinny Sales Esterque, Hans Schmidt Santos, Larissa Santos de Paula, Orlandemberg Pereira Silva
This work presents the magnetometric method application in the Carajás Mineral Province, located in the south of the Pará state, Brazil. This is a region rich in iron ore in hematite form distributed in the Itacaiúnas Belt. The available gross magnetometric data were corrected and subtracted from the IGRF (International Geomagnetic Reference Field). Subsequently, magnetic anomaly, vertical derivative, horizontal derivatives and analytical signal maps were made that allowed to identify the main f...

AVO Didactic Analysis from Simplified Modeling of Seismic Data in Libra Oil Field of the Pre-Salt Region, Brazil

Kaio da Silva Pimentel Figueiredo, Kaendra Williams Temoteo, Rafael Ximenes Goncalves, Yasmim Monteiro Cordeiro, Rogério Manhaes Soares, Hans Schmidt Santos, Claudiomar Rodrigues Franco, Felipe Barbosa Venancio de Freitas, Christyne Barros de Sá
In this study, a certain zone of Libra oil field of the pre-salt region was se-lected to be analyzed for didactic purposes in order to simulate AVO re-sponses. The region was modeled using seismic data, setting up a typical oil system with source rock (shale), reservoir rock (sandstone), and seal rock (salt). Thus, a set of parameters such as seismic wave velocity, density and Poisson’s ratio for the studied zone w

Geomagnetic Mapping of the Macaé Region, Brazil

Igor Rodrigues Salvador de Menezes, Júllia Medeiros Figueiredo, Davi Antonio Ferreira Velloso, Maria Eduarda da Silva Bento, Iuri de Azevedo Lima, Hans Schmidt Santos
This work presents the geomagnetic characterization of the municipality of Macaé, Brazil. Data from IGRF12 (twelfth edition of International Geomag-netic Reference Field) were used. Through the data collected in a regular grid of 0.1 degrees of the components, north, east and vertical were generated maps of components, inclination, declination, horizontal component and geomagnetic total field. The results showed important relative

Kaio da Silva Pimentel Figueiredo, Gabriel Machado Stutz Xavier, Dayane de Souza Pereira, Jennifer Santos Rosa, Tainá de Mello Ribeiro, Hans Schmidt Santos, Felipe Barbosa Venancio de Freitas, Rogério Manhaes Soares, Rayssa Barcellos Paiva
This work presents the analysis of magnetometric data of an aerial survey conducted in the Rio do Peixe Sedimentary Basin, which is a promising oil producing region in the state of Paraíba, Brazil. The collected aeromagne-tometric data allowed the preparation of maps regarding magnetic anomaly, horizontal and vertical derivatives, analytical signal and Euler Decon-volution that were compared w

The Island of Tubuai (French Polynesia) Landfall of Cyclone Oli on the 5th of February 2010

Jean-Pierre Barriot, Jonathan Serafini, Keitapu Maamaatuaiahutapu, Lydie Sichoix
The Island of Tubuai (Australs Archipelago, South Pacific) was directly hit by the tropical cyclone (TC) Oli on February 5th, 2010. For the first time on an island in French Polynesia, we have been able to monitor the progress and the impact of TC Oli as revealed by the meteorological, GPS and sea level pressure data. TC Oli is one of the most intense c

Modeling the Specific Seismic Risk Considering the Weight of Determining Variables

Liber Galbán Rodriguez, Elio Quiala Ortiz
The seismic risk determination for any country is a vital tool in the process of physical planning, construction and reduction of disasters caused by earthquakes. In recent years, there have been several studies on the subject, however, different methodologies could be improved from the design of a set of basic criteria, which using the advantages of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), could help to establish greater clarity in the seismic risk determining. To meet this goal, in this study, th...
