Abstract

The generalization of digital environments profoundly transforms the cognitive, emotional and social conditions of communication. Using the framework of communications psychology, this article analyzes how platforms, interfaces and algorithms reconfigure attention, emotion, decisions and social relationships. It shows that contemporary communication is part of hybrid human-technical systems, where digital environments act as active architectures guiding cognition, amplifying affects and structuring interactions. The article finally proposes an integrated analytical model and discusses its theoretical and methodological implications for Information and Communication Sciences.
