Objectives: To review the current methods and techniques used in endodontics, including both mainstream and less widely used approaches. To describe the current status of artificial intelligence and its future directions. To discuss tissue engineering. Materials and Methods: Our literature search was conducted using PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scinapse, and Cochrane as databases. The selection was based on recent studies from the past 10 years. Eligible articles included those relevant to the research question, those written in French or English, those based on scientific evidence, those with no conflict of interest, and those adhering to ethical standards. Results: This study highlights the necessity and limitations of technologies as aids in the management of endodontically treated teeth. New diagnostic tools such as pulse oximetry, laser Doppler flowmetry, dual-wavelength spectrophotometry, and the Diagnodent laser system offer reliable methods that surpass conventional sensitivity tests. Other advances include magnification, the design of access cavities that promote the preservation of dental tissue, as well as new methods of chemomechanical preparation and shaping. Finally, root canal obturation benefits from new materials such as bioceramics. Conclusion: Several diagnostic tests, access cavity design methods, and file and root canal sealing systems are available to help clinicians provide the best treatments. The practitioner must choose those that best suit the clinical case, their preferences, and, above all, their level of expertise. A comprehensive overview and careful case selection are essential for achieving a favorable outcome. In some cases, it is necessary to consider contemporary endodontic procedures for pulp preservation or regeneration.
