A Study on the English Translation of the Chinese Characteristic Words from the Perspective of Skopos Theory—Taking the Hexi Corridor and the Silk Road on Land as an Example

Chinese characteristic words, as important carrier of culture, have significant implications for the accurate dissemination and exchange of Chinese culture in their English translation. From the perspective of Skopos Theory, this paper takes the “Hexi Corridor and the Silk Road on Land” as the research text and selects historical allusions, cultural metaphors, and daily words as the types of Chinese characteristic words for translation analysis. It explores the translation strategies of Chinese characteristic words in this text and provides references for the translation of similar texts.
