Research on the Innovative Design of Traditional Pattern Visual Elements under the Aesthetics of Shape Grammar*

Abstract
As a national intangible cultural heritage, the survival status of Nantong kites has also changed with the times. This paper mainly uses a combination of field investigation and literature research to conduct field investigations, focusing on the artistic form of Nantong kites. Through the oral materials of the inheritors and the use of qualitative analysis methods, it comprehensively summarizes its modeling characteristics, aesthetic value and profound cultural connotations. In addition, this paper has made innovative designs for the kite surface art of kites, explored its activation methods and development mechanisms in the modern context, and proposed new ideas for dynamic development.
