The Important Significance of High-Tech Weapons for Modern National Defense

Abstract

As an indispensable pillar of modern national defence, high-tech weapons to some extent represent the level of development of human civilisation, which is of vital importance in protecting national security, safeguarding national interests and even maintaining world peace and development. Purpose: This paper elaborates and comprehensively explores the role of high-tech weapons in modern national defence, including enhancing national military strength, improving international status, fighting terrorism and maintaining peace and stability, countering non-traditional threats, and facilitating military technology development and exchanges among countries. At the same time, this paper stresses the importance of complying with international laws and regulations in the development and use of high-tech weapons, as well as upholding humanitarian and ethical requirements. Findings: The market size of the smart high-tech military industry will continue to grow from 2021 to 2025, and is expected to reach 17.79 billion yuan in 2025. In 2026, the growth rate may reach 21.1%. Conclusion: High-tech weapons, such as air superiority weapons and long-range strike weapons, are an indispensable part of modern national defence in terms of military and industrial development. They reflect a country’s voice in foreign affairs and comprehensive national strength.
