Abstract:

this text is an essay about the formation of the school authority concept in children, and its specifications in the brazilian historical-cultural context. its aim is to present a debate on the politic formation of children and its relation with public space in brazilian reality. the process of forming a social concept is understood as a product of social relations in a specific context. the concept of ?cordial man?, that familiarizes or imposes an intimate aspect to relations in public spaces, is a characteristic in the brazilian context. it is concluded by debating the need to make clear the distinction between intimate and public space for democratic coexistence.
