功能对等理论视角下《古文字趣谈》(节选)的英译研究 ——以第31-37章为例
A Study on the English Translation of A Fascinating Talk on Deciphering Ancient Chinese Characters (Excerpt) from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory—Taking Chapters 31~37 as Examples

在中华民族伟大复兴战略全局和世界百年未有之大变局相互交织、相互激荡的背景下，中华文化对外传播是推进世界全面、深入了解中国的重要路径。《古文字趣谈》由甲骨学专家、古文字学家陈炜湛先生二十多年来潜心研究所著，作为一部深入探讨中国古文字的学术著作，其第31~37章涵盖了甲骨文、金文等古文字演变的解读与研究，解说通俗易懂且趣味盎然，富含文化特色，对于推动中华文化向外传播具有一定的代表性。以该文本所节选内容为研究对象，从词汇对等、句法对等和篇章对等三个层面，探讨功能对等理论在此英译过程中的应用，可以为中华文化外译项目提供了一定的借鉴和启示，也对于推动中国文化走向世界、增强国际学术交流具有重要意义。
Against the backdrop of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the global changes that have not been seen in a century, interwoven and mutually stimulating, the international dissemination of Chinese culture is an important pathway to promote a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China worldwide. A Fascinating Talk on Deciphering Ancient Chinese Characters, authored by Mr. Chen Weizhan, a paleographer and ancient script scholar, is the result of over two decades of dedicated research. As an academic work that delves into ancient Chinese scripts, Chapters 31 to 37 of this book covers the interpretation and study of Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Bronze Inscriptions, and other ancient characters. The explanations are easy to understand, full of interest, rich in cultural characteristics, and have a certain representativeness in promoting the international dissemination of Chinese culture. Taking the excerpted content from this text as the research subject, this study explores the application of functional equivalence theory in the English translation process from three levels: lexical equivalence, syntactic equivalence, and discourse equivalence. It provides certain insights and enlightenment for Chinese culture translation projects and is of great significance in promoting Chinese culture to the world and enhancing international academic exchanges.
