|
Abstract:
Prediction error means that the prediction result is not consistent with the actual result, which can affect the individual’s episodic memory. In this article, we introduce the concept of prediction error and its relationship with episodic memory and review the classification of prediction error and the related theories by going over the existing research. This paper summarizes the measurement methods of prediction error, the commonly used measurement indexes, and the research progress on the influence of prediction error on episodic memory. At last, research issues that can be ex-plored on the influence of prediction error on episodic memory are discussed.
