The cornerstone of the materialist conception of history founded by Marx and Engels was the inno-vation of the concept of “matter” standing on the shoulders of giants. The Marxist category of “mat-ter” has realized a breakthrough from the objective reality to the practical activities of human beings, compared with the previous form of sticking to the sensual intuition. In the face of the development of contemporary natural science to the microcosmic world, such as the molecular, atomic and quantum levels, the reaffirmation of the Marxist category of “matter” has a positive significance in safeguarding the Marxist concept of “matter”.
