The New Development of Zhou Enlai’s Theme Painting in the 1970s and 1980s：Taking Oil Painting Works as an Example

在新中国的红色美术创作中，描绘伟人形象是永恒不变的热点。二十世纪70年代末至80年代这十余年间，出现了一大批描绘周恩来总理形象的红色美术作品。作品涵盖了油画、中国画、版画及宣传画等多个门类，其中尤以油画作品最具代表性。这些油画作品为什么会出现，在构图形式、主题上有何特点以及此时期领袖图式绘画较之前有何新发展，是一个值得思考的问题。本文通过分析20世纪70年代末至80年代绘制的有周恩来形象的油画作品的构图形式、画面主题等内容，阐释此时期周恩来主题绘画的新发展。
In the red art creation of New China, depicting the image of great people is an eternal and unchang-ing hotspot. During the late 1970s to 1980s, a large number of red art works depicting the image of Premier Zhou Enlai emerged. The works cover multiple categories such as oil painting, Chinese painting, printmaking, and promotional art, with oil painting being the most representative. Why these oil paintings appeared, what are the characteristics of their composition and themes, and what are the new developments in leader style painting during this period compared to before? These are questions worth considering. This article explains the new development of Zhou Enlai’s thematic painting during the late 1970s to 1980s by analyzing the composition and themes of oil paintings depicting Zhou Enlai’s image.
