Abstract:

Self-esteem of emotional orientation regards the emotional factors involving the self as the essence of self-esteem. This orientation believes that self-esteem can be classified into two types: global emotional self-esteem and self-worth, which are both different and closely related. Global emotional self-esteem refers to a kind of global stable self-emotional feeling, which belongs to the category of trait self-esteem, including a sense of belonging and a sense of control; self-worth is a short-term self-emotional experience, which belongs to the category of state self-esteem, and is composed of some emotional states, such as pride and shame. Self-esteem of emotional orientation is mostly measured by scale. From this perspective, self-esteem is affected by early parenting style, attachment relationship and self enhancement motivation. Future research can consider the development of measurement tools, self-esteem promotion methods, conceptual relationship analysis and so on.
