Abstract:

The theoretical models of executive function in autism spectrum disorders mainly fall into two categories, namely cognitive behavioral models and neurofunctional biological models. Cognitive behavioral models mainly include theory of mind model, cold and hot executive function integration oriented model and single factor core model. The most representative of neurobiological model is Luria’s model, which emphasizes the integration of three brain functional units. The future direction of executive function in autism spectrum disorders is to further study the causal determinants of executive function development in autistic patients, and to apply the Research Domain Criteria framework in the research field.
