Gallipoli a small town of ？anakkale in Dardanelles, which has gained an international fame with its key role and great responsibility during the World War I, has had a multilayered history from the past to the present. In particular, we find in this article, which shows how closely intertwined the onomastics and the progressive history each other, that a name is not only a simple naming, but also an important reflection of the cultural change and diversity.
