Life and Political Struggle of Al-Fadl b. Al-Rabī？ Wich Is One of The Wazīrs of Early ？Abbāsid Period

One of the discussion topics of early ？Abbāsid history is the role of mawālī (clients) in the political events of the period. Particularly Sāsānian-Persian influence on the military, political and cultural areas has been effective in beginning of this scientific debates. Thus, many events of the period were evaluated with a similar perspective and some people whose names were involved in these events were subjected to a number of accusations by both classical historians and contemporary researchers. One of them is al-Amīn’s ？ājib and wazīr Fazl b. Rab？’, who had taken an active role in the struggle between al-Amīn and al-Ma？mūn, the first power struggle within the ？Abbāsid family. In this study, the life of al-Fa？l b. al-Rabī？ as one of the leading statesmen of the ？Abbāsids, and his role in the events and the politics of the period are tried to be put forward and the claims about him are tried to be answered
