Pesticides have been used intensively for many years in control of these pests. However, it has been noticed that intensive and unconscious use of pesticides has negative effects both on environment and human also human health. In order to reduce this intensive pesticide usage, novel control strategies have been begun to develop. Integrated pest management (IPM) has been the most adopted system among them. IPM strategies differ according to the development level of the countries. This system, which is applied by almost all of the developed countries commonly, but, unfortunately, it is not adopted at the desired level in developing countries where it is most needed. The purpose of this review is to provide information about the progress of the IPM systems over the years and IPM studies in our country and other developing countries and obstacles to its widespread adoption
