The Settlement of Karachay Turks in Karahisar-？ Sahib and the Encountered Problems

One of the Caucasian peoples immigrating to the Ottoman country with the pressure of Russia after the 1877-1878 Ottoman-Russia War was Karachay Turks. Karachay immigrations starting massively for the first time in 1885-1886 had its peak at those periods and between 1905 and 1907. A part of these immigrants coming in the second wave settled in several areas of the Ottoman geography were located in some places within the Karahisar-？ Sahib Sanjak. In the present study, the settlements of Karachay Turks arriving in ？stanbul by sea after coming down from the north of Caucasia, sent to Konya, and settling in the Karahisar-？ Sahib Sanjak after escaping from Konya and the problems encountered during this period were discussed in the light of the Ottoman Archive documents
