CONSUMER PAPERS

Consumer papers are valuable papers which are given by consumers give due to consumer transaction. But these papers aren’t any type of valuable papers in of themselves, this is just a name of any valuable paper which is drawn by a consumer. These papers are invalid in Turkish law unless they are nominative and if there is an installment transaction, they are separate for each installment. This invalidity is a defense. So these papers are valid unless consumer asserts this defense. But there is a debate in doctrine about this is an absolute defense or a relative defense. There is also a dispute between chambers of Yarg？tay about what should be understood from invalidity. Dependent on type of defense, it changes that defense can be asserted against third party
