Demographic data analysis of cases with esophagogastroduodenoscopy ？n our gastroenterology department: 5-year series (Our esophagogastroduodenoscopy results)

Background: It is aimed to create epidemiological data related to esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) patients who come to our hospital from ？anl？urfa province and environmental regions and thus to reveal the similarities and differences of our endoscopy results by comparing the literature findings. Methods: A total of 5286 EGD data between January 2011 and March 2016 were evaluated. Patients in the study were compared according to age, gender, endoscopic lesions and malignancy. Results: There were 2774 (52.5%) women and 2512 (47.5%) men in esophagogastroduodenoscopy group. The average age of the women was 43,35 ± 17,76 and men was 44,35 ± 17,08. The rate of upper gastrointestinal system malignancy was 0.7%. Conclusions: The present study has provided detailed EGD data about Sanliurfa Region. We think that this study contributes epidemiological studies especially in this region
