MODERNIST-SOCIALIST TURKISH POETRY

We can say that there are three stages in the course of social-realism in Turkish literature. The first of these stages; what we call early-socialism. This stage is represented by the names of Abdülaziz Mecd？ Tolun and Ya？ar Nezihe Bükülmez in the last years of the Republic and the last years of the Constitution. This stage also includes propagandist poems with a narrow perspective from thematic and aesthetic perspectives. As a matter of fact, at this stage, it does not enter into any kind of observation scale except for poetry for socialism. The second stage; It is the stage that was carried by Naz？m Hikmet in the late 1920s and carried to the non-poetic genre with such names as Sabahattin Ali, Sadri Ertem, Hasan ？zzettin Dinamo and R？fat Ilgaz. At this stage, which we call as advanced-socialism, socialist-realism expands its boundaries both aesthetically, thematically and genuinely. After the 1960s, socialist-realism appears to have acquired modernist and avant-garde opportunities with names such as Ismet Ozel, Ataol Behramoglu, Ahmet Telli, Nihat Behram, Sevgi Soysal, Erdal Oz, and so on. At this stage, which we call modernist-socialism; it can be seen that with the individual themes, abstract imagery, language deformation and modern narrative techniques are displayed. In other words; the possibility of socialist literature with modernist / avantgarde literature. In our study, we will examine the status of modernist-socialism in poetry. We will take a look at the important points of the modernist-socialist poem in terms of thematic and formal. But in doing so; we will move from a purely descriptive point of view to a point of view that touches on social / political / aesthetic ground
