Determination of Perceptions of 48-84 Months Old Children towards Different Cultures According to Syrian Refugee ClassmateKeywords: G??men,?ocuk,Farkl?l?klara Sayg? Abstract: The main purpose of the study is to determine the perceptions of children ages of 48-84 months towards different cultures. For this objective, children’s perceptions about different cultures were evaluated in terms of having a Syrian refugee classmate, gender, age, parent’s education and occupation. After obtaining the necessary permits, the research was carried out with a total of 253 children aged between 48 and 84 months attending in public schools in the province of Alt?nda?, Ankara. The Different Cultural Background sub-dimension of The Scale of Respect for Diversities (Ekmi?o?lu, 2007) was used to collect the data. The scale was applied as individual interviews with the children. In the analysis of the data, independent groups t test and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. As a result of the research, there was a significant difference in the perception of children towards different cultures in terms of having Syrian refugee classmate, the age of the children and mother's education and father’s occupation. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in terms of the gender of children, the mother's occupation and father's education
