LIFE CYCLE ANALYSIS OF SELF COMPACTING MORTAR PRODUCTION WITH WASTE MATERIAL IN TURKEY

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a method used to analyse the environmental performance of buildings and construction materials. Cement used as binder material in concrete reveals greenhouse gas during production. Globally, approximately 5-8% of the total CO2 emissions are due to cement production. In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it is increasingly important to replace cement with waste materials (fly ash, waste glass and blast furnace slag, etc.).
