Cement used as binder material in concrete reveals greenhouse gas during production. Globally, approximately 5-8% of the total CO2 emissions are due to cement production. In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it is increasingly important to replace cement with waste materials (fly ash, waste glass and blast furnace slag, etc.).
