Cümcüme in Turkish literature. Hüsam Katib wrote the first Turkish version. Subsequent prosaic and poetic versions of the story were written and told in Eastern and Western Turkish languages throughout the centuries, including Malay, Java, and Sunda, Arabic, Persian, and Chinese.
