For this aim, as a means of data, “Teacher Perceptions of Generation Y Student Characteristics Scale” of Smith and Smith (2005) is applied to 68 academicians working at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Süleyman Demirel University who represent the X generation. According to the results of the study; while the generation X academicians have a negative perception about the general properties and learning proficiency of the generation Y students, they do not indicate a positive or negative tendency about the students’ features of work and communication. In contrast, the generation Y students’ perception about the generation X academics’ interaction with themselves is generally positive and while students, on the one hand, see the generation X academics as leader, helpful/friendly, considerate, determined, content and nonstimulating person, on the other hand they see them as strict and nonliberal person
