Abstract:

This article is investigating and analyzing semantic features of the concept “sky” in Russian, English, Turkish and Kyrgyz languages. Comparative description of different languages was traditionally concerned only with systemic relations at vocabulary, phraseology, and grammar levels. It is possible to implement a comparative-typological approach at the level of the world’s linguistic picture. The concept of a world’s linguistic picture is associated with another important concept of linguoculturology and cognitive linguistics is the concept as part of the national conceptosphere. The study of cultural concepts in a comparative typological aspect will allow developing linguistic and cultural competence of native speakers, fostering a tolerant linguistic personality, and successful communication.
