Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a complex and expensive complication-burdened life support modality in order to treat patients with respiratory and/or circulatory failure. A group of ECMO enthusiasts recently launched the first polish ECMO program called “ECMO for Greater Poland”.
