Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is a precancerous lesion. Low-grade DCIS is the type of DCIS closest to benign lesions and has a good prognosis. With the continuous deepening of research, there is controversy regarding the treatment of low-grade DCIS. Surgery or active surveillance has its own advantages. In this article, we discussed the pathological diagnosis and treatment of low-grade DCIS by comparing the prognostic differences between surgery and active surveillance and analyzing the causes of this difference
