Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system (CNS). Despite improvements of immunomodulatory therapies in relapsing–remitting MS, the pathomechanisms of progressive disease are poorly understood and therapeutically addressed to date.
