The “ГОР?ТИ” Concept in Slavonic Versions of the Ascetical Homilies of Saint Isaac the Syrian (Based on Material of Lexical Variation of Homily 21 from Version A and Homilies 10–14 from Version B)Keywords: Isaac the Syrian, lexical variation, concept^ burn^ burning. Abstract: The concept of “burning” in Bulgarian and Russian linguocultures is mostly defined by its conceptualisation in Slavonic copies of the medieval literature. The cognitive schemes of “burning lighting – the soul and the heart of a man” and “burning as a spiritual ministration, as an expression of strong emotions” are analysed in material of Lexical Variation in the Homily 21 from Version A and Homilies 10–14 from Version B of the Ascetical Homilies of Saint Isaac the Syrian. The concept of “burn/burning” is realised through a system of meanings, structured by the implementation of various cognitive schemes. The lexical material and the word-formation models, though shown in a short text, present the signs of a rich synonymic and multilayer fund of literature lexis dating from the XIV century
