The “ГОР？ТИ” Concept in Slavonic Versions of the Ascetical Homilies of Saint Isaac the Syrian (Based on Material of Lexical Variation of Homily 21 from Version A and Homilies 10–14 from Version B)

The concept of “burning” in Bulgarian and Russian linguocultures is mostly defined by its conceptualisation in Slavonic copies of the medieval literature. The cognitive schemes of “burning lighting – the soul and the heart of a man” and “burning as a spiritual ministration, as an expression of strong emotions” are analysed in material of Lexical Variation in the Homily 21 from Version A and Homilies 10–14 from Version B of the Ascetical Homilies of Saint Isaac the Syrian. The concept of “burn/burning” is realised through a system of meanings, structured by the implementation of various cognitive schemes. The lexical material and the word-formation models, though shown in a short text, present the signs of a rich synonymic and multilayer fund of literature lexis dating from the XIV century
