选择螺旋——一个传播学大理论、元理论、预测理论和预设理论

Abstract:
摘要 本文提出“选择螺旋”(selective spiral)理论,以图包容、总结、调整、延伸、链接、 融合和运用实证主义传播学中的经典理论,以及心理学、社会学、消费者行为和其他涉 及信息传播的理论。本文将指出,选择螺旋最大限度地包容多种理论,因而是一个大理 论;选择螺旋包含关于理论的理论,因而是一个元理论;选择螺旋可用于预测尚未观测 到的传播行为与传播现象,因而是一个预测理论;选择螺旋可以作为一个预设的框架来 帮助解释已观察到的传播行为和传播现象,因而是一个预设理论。
This research introduces the theory of selective spiral. The theory attempts to connect, integrate, expand, and apply the classic empirical theories of communication research, therefore a mega theory. It includes a theory of communication theories, therefore a meta theory. It makes predictions about communication behavior and impact that can be tested empirically, therefore a predictive theory. Finally, it provides a framework of understanding that flls the gaps between empirical observations, connects dots, explains causes, and interprets meanings, therefore a presumptive theory
