someinterestingbimetallicisopropoxidesofnickel(ⅱ)withgallium(ⅲ)andzirconium(ⅳ),ni[ga(opr1)4]2andni[zr2(opr1)9]2havebeensynthesizedbytheinteractionofnicl2·2pr1ohwithk[ga(opr1)4],andk[zr2(opr1)9]respectively,in1:2molarratio.thesebimetallicisopropoxidesundergofacilealcoholinterchangereactionswithprimaryalcohols.however,reactionswithtertiaryalcoholsresultintheisolationofpartiallysubstitutedderivativeswiththecompositions,ni[ga(opr1)(obut)3]2andni[zr2(opr1)3(obut)6]2.characterisationofthesederivativeshasbeenmadeonthebasisofelementalanalyses,infrared,electronicspectralandmagneticsusceptibilitymeasurements.thesestudiessuggestanoctahedralgeometryfornickel(ⅱ)intheprimarybimetallicalkoxides,whileinthecaseofsecondaryandtertiaryderivatives,anequilibriumissuggestedbetweenoctahedralandtetrahedralforms.
