Abstract:

?theeffectofoxidationpretreatmenttemperature(500~1000℃)onthecatalyticactivityofkovarappliedonhydrocarbonco2reformingwasexamined.catalyticperformanceevaluationusingtetradecaneat800℃with70μmol/sco2revealed700and1000℃asthebestpre-oxidationtemperatureinproducingcoandh2,respectively.xrdandsem-edxanalysesshowedthataseparatemetaloxidelayercomposedofironoxide(fe2o3andf3o4),nickel,cobalt,andpossiblytheirrespectiveoxidesstartedtoformwhenoxidationwasconductedat700℃orhigher.thepresenceofironenhancedthestabilityofnickelinthestructurewhilethecompactstructureoffe3o4resultedintotheformationofathickandrigidmetaloxidelayeronthesurfaceofthekovartube.thestrongphysicalbondbetweenthemetaloxidelayerandkovartubeprovidedthecatalystgoodmechanicalstrengthandconsequentlygoodcatalyticactivity.
