ReviewofResearchonEarlyCambrianPhosphatizedQuadrapyrgites, PP. 1398-1405 Keywords: SSFs,Quadrapyrgites,Meishucunian,OntogeneticSequence,Shaanxiprovince Abstract: ThemetazoanQuadrapyrgitesconsists,fromproximaltodistalends,ofanoralarea,acone,acollar,andanapexfromtheEarlyCambrianFortunianStageinXixiangZhangjiagousection,southernShaanxiProvince,SouthChina.Threemorphologicaltypesoftheapex,themostcharacteristicfeatureofthetaxon,areidentifiedfromhundredsofQuadrapyrgitesspecimens.TheQuadrapyrgitesgrowthzoneissituatedattheoralend,where12terminallobesaregenerated,uplifted,enlarged,andevaginatedtoformacrest;Aone-by-oneofcrestnumberfrom2to13hasbeenrecognized.TheuniquegrowthpatternandontogeneticsequencerefuteacubozoanorcycloneuralianaffinityforOlivooidesandQuadrapyrgites,andinsteaddefendacoronatescyphozoanhypothesis.Anembryonicdevelopmentandontogeneticsequencewithembryoandcrestisconstructed.
