ONTWOSKELETONSOFDICYNODONTlAFROMSINKIANGAbstract: SincethedetailsoftheTheromorpha-bearingbedsofSinkianghaveasyetnotbeenfullyoutlined,wefeelthatitistooearlytodrawanyreliablestratigraphicalandpal(?)ntologicalconclusionsnow,butwementionthewealthofthefauna.Thetwospecimensheredescribedareallwellpreservedandnearlycomplete.AccordingtotheinformationsuppliedbyYuan,therearestillaconsiderablenumberofboxesunpacked.Wehopetofindmoreinterest-ingfindssoastoobtainageneralviewofthefaunainSinkiang.pal(?)ntologicalseaking,thegeneraofthefaunasofarrecognizedareDicynodon,LystrosaurusandChasmatosaurus(aPelcosimia)(tobedescribedinthenearfuture).NoCynodontiaorotherinterestingformsarerecorded.Thisstronglysuggeststhat,asintheKarrooformation,DicynodonandLystrosaurusalsorepresentthemostcommonandwidelydistributedanimalsamongtheotherTheromorphanreptilesinSinkiang.AsfarastheknownformsinSinkiangareconcerned,noremarkableanatomicalcharactersarefound.AllthreegeneraareknowninS.Africa.Itthereforeseems,thateitheralandconnectionbetweenbothexistedorthattheconditionsbetweenbothduringthePermo-Triassictimewereextremelysimilar.
