ThetechnicsofbreedinganewtransgenictobaccocultivarresistanttomosaicdiseasesanditsextentionDOI: 10.7668/hbnxb.1993.S2.011, PP. 58-63 Keywords: gene-transfer,tobaccomosaicvirus,cucumbermosaicvirus,newtransgenictantlineoftobacco Abstract: ThispaperreportsanewtransgenictobaccolineNC89resistanttobothtobaccomosaicvirus(TMV)andcucumbermosaicvirus(CMV).Itdealswiththedetailsoffieldexperi-mentsofthewholeprocessofsegregationandselectionoftheprogeniesoftransgenicplantpopu-lation.Byusingthegenetransfertechnics,sometransgenicplantsresistanttomosaicdiseasefromaflue-curedtobaccocultivarNC89wereobtainedingreenhousein1989.Thereafter,throughfieldinoculationandselectionfromthe2ndand3rdgenerations,ahomozygouslineresistanttobothvirusesandwithgoodqualitieswasbredout.Theinheretantstabilityoftheresistanceofthenewlinewasconfirmedthroughthe4thto6thgenerations.In1992,thetransgenicresistantlinewasplantedabout7000hectaresinHenanprovince.Therelativeeffectofcontrollingmosaicdis-easesoftobaccowas50—70%.Theout-putvalueincreased30—50%perunitarea.Thisisanewexampleofgrowingatransgenicvirus-resistantPlantinlargescaleinChina.
