ApplicationofFilm-formingAdditivesforIonicLiquidBasedElectrolyteKeywords: vinylenecarbonate,1,3-propanesultone,N-methyl-N-propylpiperidiniumbis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide,solidelectrolyteinterface Abstract: N-methyl-N-propylpiperidiniumbis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imidewassynthesizedfortheapplicationinionicliquidbasedelectrolytesinlithiumionbattery,10%vinylenecarbonate(VC)and10%1,3-propanesultone(PS)wereaddedtotheelectrolytesystemrespectivelyasadditivestoimprovethepropertyofsolidelectrolyteinterfaceandcyclicperformance.Theresultsofcyclicvoltammetryshowedthathomogenousandcompactsolidelectrolyteinterfacefilmformedongraphiteelectrodewhichwasdetectedbyobservingthemorphologyofcycledgraphiteanode.CharginganddischargingperformanceofLiFePO4/Lihalfcellwastestedintheelectrolytewithorwithoutadditives.Theinitialspecificdischargingcapacitieswereincreasedto129.4and123.0mA×h/gbytheadditionofVCandPS,respectively,comparedwiththatofadditive-freeelectrolyte.Thedischargingretentionswere88.9%and84.6%inelectrolytecontainingVCandPSafter10cycles.
