TheEffectsofOxidativePretreatmentofZinc-containingDustonContentsofIronandManganeseinAmmoniacalLeachingSolutionandProductionofZincOxideKeywords: zinc-containingdust,oxidativepretreatment,ammoniacalleaching,zincoxide,calciumhypochlorite Abstract: Thezinc-containingdustwasoxidativelypretreatedwithcalciumhypochlorite,subsequentlyleachedwithammonia/ammoniumbicarbonatesolutiontoobtaintheammoniacalleachingsolution,andzincoxidewasproducedbyammoniadistillationoftheammoniacalleachingsolutionandsubsequentcalcination.Theelementsofironandmanganesecouldnotbedetectedinammoniacalleachingsolution,andtheextractionrateofzincwas98.2%inammoniacalleachingprocess.Thezincoxidecontentintheproductis99.5%(w),andthecontentsofironandmanganeseintheproductwere0.0028‰and0.00084‰(w),respectively.Theanalysesofthevalencestatesofironandmanganeseinthezinc-containingdustwithandwithoutpretreatmentwereperformedbychemicalanalysisandXPS,andthepossibleoxidationmechanismoftheoxidativepretreatmentofthedustwasdiscussed.ItisconcludedthatFe2+-oxideandMn2+-oxideinthedustwereoxidizedtoFe3+-oxideand/oritshydrateandMn4+-oxideand/oritshydratebycalciumhypochloriteduringtheoxidativepretreatmentprocess,respectively.
