Abstract:

TheTi/SnO2+Sb2O3/PbO2anodewithSnO2+Sb2O3intermediatelayerobtainedbythepolymericprecursormethod(PPM)andwiththeconventionalroutewasstudied.ThemorphologyandmicrostructureofSnO2+Sb2O3intermediatelayerderivedfromdifferentprecursorsandthetopPbO2activelayerwereexaminedbymeansofESEMandXRD.Thelifetimeandelectrocatalyticactivityoftheanodewerealsoassessedbythecyclicvoltammetryandacceleratedlifetimetestin1.0mol/LH2SO4solution.Itwasfoundthatprecursorsolventsaffectedlifetime,microstructureandmorphologyoftheanode,andhadlittleinfluenceonelectrocatalysisactivityoftheelectrodes.TheacceleratedlifetimeofTi/SnO2+Sb2O3/PbO2anodewithintermediatelayerpreparedbyPPMwas29.5hin1.0mol/LH2SO4solution,whichwasrespectivelyaboutfourtimesandtwicethatoftheanodepreparedwithethyleneglycolandethanol.Aftertheanodewassubjectedtothermalcorrosion,thelifetimestillreached27hincontrasttotheothers.
