Data mining based hospital managementKeywords: statistical,analysis,data,mining,electronic,discharge,summary,length,of,stay,NHI,points, Abstract: Rapidprogressininformationtechnologyhascometoenableustostorealltheinformationinahospitalinformationsystem,includingmanagementdata,patientrecords,dischargesummaryandlaboratorydata.Althoughthereuseofthosedatahasnotstarted,ithasbeenexpectedthatthestoreddatawillcontributetoanalysisofhospitalmanagement.Inthispaper,thedischargesummaryofChibaUniversityHospital,whichhasbeenstoredsince1980’swereanalyzedtocharacterizetheuniversityhospital.Theresultsshowseveralinterestingresults,whichsuggeststhatthereuseofstoreddatawillgiveapowerfultooltosupportalongperiodmanagementofauniversityhospital.
