Biochemical and Physiological Responses of Pterocarya stenoptera and Taxodium ascendens Saplings to Different Configuration Modes and Water RegimesDOI: 10.11721/cqnuj20120326, PP. 142-150 Keywords: ThreeGorgesReservoirRegion,configurationmode,watertress,physiologicalresponse,Pterocaryastenoptera,Taxodiumascendens Abstract: ThreedifferentkindsofwatertreatmentandtwoconfigurationmodeswereappliedtoexaminethebiochemicalandphysiologicalresponsesofP.stenopteraandT.ascendenssaplingsundersimulatedvegetationoftheHydro-fluctuationBeltoftheThreeGorgesReservoirRegion.Thewatertreatmentswerenormalgrowthwatercondition(CK),lightdroughtwaterstress(LD)andwatersubmersion(SM).Thefirstconfigurationmodewas3P.stenopteraand6T.ascendens,andthesecondwasareverseofthenumberofsaplingsofbothspecies.Theresultsshowedthatdifferentconfigurationmodescouldnotsignificantlyinfluencethephotosyntheticpigment,SOD,POD,CAT,ASP,O2?―,prolineandsolubleproteinofthetwospecies.Incontrast,differentwatertreatmentandtimehadsignificantinfluencesonSOD,POD,CAT,ASP,O2?―andsolubleproteinofthetwospecies.Theinteractionofconfigurationmodesxwatertreatment,configurationmodesxtime,configurationmodesxwatertreatmentxtimehadnosignificantinfluenceonphotosyntheticpigment,SOD,POD,CAT,ASP,O2?―andsolubleproteinofthetwospecies.However,theinteractionofwatertreatmentxtimehadsignificantinfluencesonSOD,POD,ASPandO2?―ofP.stenoptera,aswellasonSOD,CAT,ASPandprolinecontentofT.ascendens.Ourstudyshowedthatbothspecieshadtosomeextentdifferentbiochemicalandphysiologicalresponsestowaterstress,andwererelativelywell-adaptedtothedynamichydrologicalenvironmentinthehydro-fluctuationbeltoftheThreeGorgesReservoirRegion.
