Abstract:

?Thecatalyticactivityofcopperzirconiumphosphate(ZPCu)intheselectiveoxidationofalcoholstotheircorrespondingketonesoraldehydes,usingH2O2asanoxidizingagent,wasstudied.Theoxidationreactionwasperformedwithoutanyorganicsolvent,phase-transfercatalyst,oradditive.Stericfactorsassociatedwiththesubstratesinfluencedthereaction.ThecatalystwascharacterizedusingX-raydiffraction,inductivelycoupledplasmaatomicemissionspectroscopy,energy-dispersiveX-rayspectroscopy,andscanningelectronmicroscopy.Itwasshownthattheinterlayerdistanceincreasedfrom0.74to0.80nmandthecrystallinitywasreducedafterCu2+intercalationintothelayers.Thiscatalystcanberecoveredandreusedthreetimeswithoutsignificantlossofactivityandselectivity.
