AStudyontheMiddleUpperProterozoicandLowerPalaeozoicSourceRockfromtheHuabeiAreainChina, PP. 1-14 Keywords: Middle,Areain,China,Palaeozoic,Proterozoic,Rock,Source,Study,Huabei,and Abstract: TheHuabeiareainChinaiswidespreadlycoveredbyMiddleUpperProterozoicandLowerPalaeozoicmarinecarbonaterockswithseveralthousandmetersinthickness.Therearesomedifficultiesinstudyingthegeneticmechanismofhydrocarbonsinthesesourcerocksbecauseofthegenerallyhighmaturationoftheorganicmatter.ThepurposeofthepresentpaperistoevaluatewhetherornottheMiddleUpperProterozoicandLowerPalaeozoicmarinecarbonaterocksintheHuabeiareaareanimportantsuiteofhydrocarbonsourcerocksandtoprovidethepetroleumexplorationinthisareawithsomescientificdata.Thepresentpapermainlydealswiththecharacteristicsofsedimentaryenvironments,abundanceandmaturityoforganicmatter,kerogentypesandbiomarkersofthehydrocarbonsourcerockformedintheMiddleUpperProterozoicandLowerPalaeozoicstrataoftheHuabeiarea.Moreover,anevaluationonthepotentialhydrocarbongenerationofthesourcerockhasbeenmadeandfavorableareasfortheformationofthehydrocarbonsourcerockwithinthisareahavebeenpointedoutaswell.
