VALIDACION DE UNA ESCALA DE APOYO SOCIAL PERCIBIDO EN UN GRUPO DE ADULTOS MAYORES ADSCRITOS A UN PROGRAMA DE HIPERTENSION DE LA REGION METROPOLITANA VALIDATION OF A SCALE OF PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT IN A GROUP OF ELDERS UNDER CONTROL IN A HYPERTENSION PROGRAM IN THE METROPOLITAN REGION

El estudio evalúa las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala Multidimensional de Apoyo Social de Zimet et al. (1988). Con este fin, se realizó una aplicación piloto a 12 adultos mayores, la que mostró que era necesario realizar adaptaciones en el instrumento. Luego, se aplicó el instrumento adaptado a 76 adultos mayores de la Región Metropolitana, utilizando el programa SPSS para el análisis estadístico, el cual mostró que el comportamiento de los ítemes permitía aplicarla en su versión original. El análisis factorial de tipo exploratorio dio como resultado un modelo de dos factores, el cual es apoyado por la rotación oblicua y el análisis factorial confirmatorio.
