Qui ne connait pas Jean Fourastié, auteur de la formule des “Trente Glorieuses” et de plusieurs essais économiques grand public qui, en décrivant les mécanismes économiques de long terme, ont dévoilé aux Fran ais le sens et la portée des transformations que leur pays connait après la guerre ? Pourtant, les amalgames les oublis et les simplifications montrent qu'il est un “inconnu célèbre”. Dans ce contexte, et à la lumière de recherches récentes, son r le dans l'harmonisation des pratiques comptables dans le domaine des assurances, son champ d'expertise originel, comme sa participation aux différents comités à l'origine de la comptabilité nationale pendant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale doivent être réévalués. Who doesn’t know Jean Fourastié, author of the famous "Trente Glorieuses” and of several brilliant essays which, giving to understand long term economic mechanisms, revealed to the French meaning and scope of the transformations their country experienced after the war ? But amalgams, omissions and simplifications show that he's, somehow, famous but unknown. In that context, his role in the harmonization of accounting practices in the insurances business in the thirties as well as his participation to different committees dealing with national accounting during World War II need to be re-evaluated.
