EKONOMETR K MODELLERLE TüRK YE N 2006 YILI G N KATSAYISI TAHM N = ESTIMATION OF GINI COEFFICIENT BY ECONOMETRIC MODELS FOR TURKEY FOR THE YEAR 2006

Gini coefficient is used to compare the degree of equalities in incomes depending on time and countries (regions). Although it is a global measure, Gini coefficient is not periodically calculated in Turkey. Until the study had been finished, Gini coefficient for Turkey for the year 2006 hasn’t been announced by Turkish Statistical Institute. The aim of this study is to propose a new model in calculating the Gini. For that, the most Gini calculated years, 1992, 1996 and 2000, are investigated. The proposed model is applied for the year 2006.
